Boy, 10, dies after being found hanging from coat hook

Counselors are on hand and two police cars are parked in front of Oakton Elementary School in Evanston Illinois after a ten-year-old student was found hanging from a hook in the restroom yesterday.

Aquan Lewis, 10, of Skokie was apparently found hanging from a hook in the boys bathroom by a principal and a teacher around 3 pm yesterday. According to school janitor Elliott Lieteau Aquan was unresponsive when he was found. The child was pulled off of the hook and school officials called 911,while Lieteau began performing CPR.

Aquan was taken to St. Francis Hospital and later transferred to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago where he was pronounced dead at about 4 AM. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

Details are not being released but school officials and police are investigating the incident and have scheduled a press conference for noon today. The death has everyone asking if this was a tragic accident, bullying gone wrong, or something much worse.

Many parents are concerned about how their own children will deal with this tragedy, especially those who knew Aquan.
